In the post iblastoff had included a link to gbp_permanent_link and it works like a charm, but somewhat confusing (to me at least). I kind of got lost in terms of displaying intro articles for my site’s structure which goes like this:

Case one: (simple section/article URI scheme)

Section (intro article)
- section article 1
- section article 2
- section article 3

Case two: (section/category1/article URI scheme)

Section (intro article)
 - category1 (intro article)
 -- category1 article 1
 -- category1 article 2
 -- category1 article 3

Case three (section/category1/category2/article URI scheme)

Section (intro article)
 - category1 (intro article)
 -- category2 (intro article)
 --- category2 article 1
 --- category2 article 2
 --- category2 article 3
