Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Thank you so much Steve! Works very well with firefox and Opera on windows.
Unfortunately – and it’s not a great surprise – doesn’t work with ie6 (haven’t tried with ie7). I hate this browser but
it’s still widely used so I wonder if someone who knows javascript and ie better than me could find some sort of hack or modification to make it ie compatible…
Anyway thank you again Steve, You’ve made a great work

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
All
looks like I need to re-work the JavaScript for IE support. Might as well switch it all over to jQuery then. That’ll take a little time, I’m getting old <grin>.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Hi Steve,
I finally got around to testing this….glz_custom_field + sed_section_fields would be a perfect solutions for some of my project. But unfortunately it’s not working (latest plugins, clean 4.0.6 txp install, firefox 2.0.0.12 / ie 7).
Firefox does not change the fields on section selection….they just sit there.
IE 7 doesn’t even allow me to switch sections.
In Presentation -> Sections when I add or delete a section the options for section_fields dissapear until I click Sections again.
I’ve been trying this stuff for a while now (clean install, different order of installing plugins, different order of setting) without success.
I can make a login for you to the domain I’m testing it on for you to take a look if that helps. Just let me know.

Wonderful, ‘tis a thing of beauty. Working perfectly once I hack it to use the /edit directory, becuase of recent cookie changes to core.
I have one suggestion how about an “all fields on/off toggle” which would save those of us with lots of fields from clicking our fingers into an early ruin.
Seriously though. This and glz are wonderful. kind of a mickey mouse way of getting to custom content types. Bravo!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
It’s also not working for me. Running 4.0.5, and I do not think there are any plugin installed that would interfering. The section interface remembers my choices, but the Write screen remain unaffected.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Hello All.
Any known “tricks” to getting this working?
How about known conflicts with other plugins?
As Kevin mentioned above…the section interface remembers my choices, but the write screen is unaffected.
I’m running:
TXP 4.0.6
sed_section_fields 0.2.112

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
kevinpotts, renobird,
what browser are you using? For me it works well with firefox on windows and linux (kubuntu) though it doesn’t work with ie6.
Netcarver mentioned he was going to try to fix it, but since then there weren’t any updates.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Hey Redbot,
I’ve tried it on the latest versions of FF and Safari…and forced myself to turn on the Windows 2000 machine we have tucked away in a back office to check IE6.
No luck on any of them. I suspected it was a conflict with something else…so I deactivated all other plugins…still nothing.
I’m stumped.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
It’s odd because upgrading to 4.0.6 solved all of my problems except on my own site, graphicpush.com. I’m not sure if there are specific plugins interfering, or what, but I’ve tried of activating and deactiving different ones with no results.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Just made a conflict discovery.
I deactivated all my plugins (25+) one at at time.
When I deactived rss_admin_show_adv_opts all worked perfectly.
Kevin…maybe that will help you as well?
Of course now I need another option to keep “advanced options” open by default.
Thoughts?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
Yeah I tried that one without luck. I will keep hammering at it.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields
I double checked to make sure that was the culprit…and sure enough when I activated it again everything went dark.
I’m not a fan of hacking any core files…but here’s a small hack from textpattern.org for getting “Advanced Options” to stay open. In case any of you need it.
Update
Redbot pointed out that ied_hide_in_admin will allow you to keep advanced options open.
Kevin. Good luck. I bashed my head against the desk a few times looking for a solution. I hope it doesn’t come to that for you.
