Re: rvm_latin1_to_utf8 (v0.5)

Hi James

You may also be interested in going one step further with Ruud’s rvm_utf8_to_utf8mb4. As always, back up first.

Charset (default/config): latin1/utf8
character_set_client: latin1
character_set_connection: latin1
character_set_database: latin1
character_set_filesystem: binary
character_set_results: latin1
character_set_server: latin1
character_set_system: utf8

Odd thing, but on sites I’ve had for a longer time, the character_set_client and character_set_connection report as utf8, but this one, which is two years old, stays at latin1 no matter what $txpcfg[‘dbcharset’] = is set to.

@Ruud: I made some updates to your other plugin rvm_utf8_to_utf8mb4. Please see that thread over there.
