^^ I agree. If the non-PHP solution is as short as the PHP solution (as it is here), not using PHP is probably best.

$globals is usually written uppercase as $GLOBALS, perhaps that’s why it didn’t work?

Ups, corrected the code, written it in hurry and forgot to press caps-lock on ;)
