Re: [resolved] another "crossing information blocks" question

I’m not sure which solution you chose, but txp:article is context-sensitive so if you are on an article page (e.g. video a) it will pull out information relating to that article only, even if you use the tag in two different places on the page. txp:article_custom (or txp:related_articles) will list other articles outside that context.

BTW: why repeat the title in the excerpt? You can use txp:title twice on the same page with different markup if you want.

I chose the solution proposed by wet.

why repeat the title in the excerpt?

Because I’m a slow learner. Off to try what you suggest.

Re: [resolved] another "crossing information blocks" question

Sorry to chime in late, and I know you say you have got it to work, but an alternative to using a separate custom field to hold the blurb is to actually mark up a chunk or two of text from the body itself and use the smd_pullquote plugin to make the pull quotes.

Might save you typing stuff twice and if you ever change the body content, the pullquotes update automatically :-)

The smd plugin menagerie — for when you need one more gribble of power from Textpattern. Bleeding-edge code available on GitHub.
