yup, i’ve got upm_image installed now. not sure if that’s what makes it work, but it does work now! really happy that i can finally (and easily) use article images and get them to appear in feeds.

Awesome plugin, exactly what I was looking for. I have noticed an issue where the feed displays articles out of order. I had an older item show up as the first item in the feed with both RSS and Atom after turning on the plugin, and after turning it off the feed goes back to normal. Any ideas?

That sounds really strange. The plugin only gets an article from Textpattern saying “do something with this article”, don’t know how that would rearrange them. Sorry.

I’ll check back and keep you posted, but it may be my feed reeder. I was viewing the feed using Opera, and I noticed it seems to arrange the Atom posts by date modified rather than date published. I’ll get another feed reader and see, maybe use Google’s or something I know will work correctly.

It was as I suspected. Opera gives preference to the modified date, rather than sticking with the published date. Safari doesn’t do this. Crisis averted.

Hi! The plugin rocks, I added it to also populate the facebook notes of my facebook fan page with the images, but althought the images are on the feed, they don’t appear on the notes. I’m asking you because maybe you know why is that.
I’m also burning the atom feed of txp with feedburner. Is that the problem?

I believe Facebook gets the article image by a completely different method. Have a look here:
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/
In short, insert a code like this in the <head>:
<meta property=“og:image” content=“URL_OF_IMAGE”/>

Thanks for the plug-in Christian, it works great and has perfectly chosen configuration options.
I had a conflict with it and the sgb_url_handler plug-in where the images were not displaying. I resolved it by setting sgb_url_handler to have a later order value and everything seems to be working fine now.

I’ve adopted this orphan and made it run in the latest Textpattern and PHP incarnations by adding a few double quotes.
