Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_pluginstaller - automatic plugin installer

I’m unable to activate rss_pluginstaller. Admittedly, I’m a noob with Textpattern. I installed it last night on my OpenBSD server and it’s working great, but I haven’t fully grasped the plugin installation process (the help documentation appears to be missing). Anyways, I installed the magpie RSS files, then pasted and uploaded the plugin. Everything went smoothly, except it says that the plugin is not activated. I click the link to activate it, but it still says “No”. I’ve checked the error_log and diagnostics, but everything seems fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-fp.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_pluginstaller - automatic plugin installer

Disregard, this seems to be a universal problem with plugin support on my installation of Textpattern. If I update the status field in the db table, it works fine.

Thanks,

Rob, this is fantastic work, but why the total lack of interest in abstracting it for other plugin developers too? :\

Rob,

Could you explain how “?pluginfeed=1” generates your feed? I’ve developed a function that can extract plugin metadata when given the txt file, but need to figure out how to generate a feed for others to view.
