Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] wow_gallery - A complete gallery manager for Textpattern
Yes, they are located in the main-folder. My site is running on a sub-domain though. Could this be a problem?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] wow_gallery - A complete gallery manager for Textpattern
Is there any way of not showing the navigation links « ‹ Page 1 › » etc
if one wishes to display a specified number of latest thumbs from the gallery on another section?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] wow_gallery - A complete gallery manager for Textpattern
@joel
No, this shouldn’t be a problem. I’m wondering what isn’t found actually – could you let me know? This’d make it easier to track down the problem. Since nobody else reported this problem so far, I guess it’s somehow related to your config.
- You click a thumb -> JavaScript opens a new window and loads wow_tpl.php
- wow_tpl.php includes image_viewer.css and requests the actual image through wow_image.php
What would help is if you took a look at the JavaScript which calls wow_tpl.php, for example. Is the path correct there? If yes and wow_tpl.php loads, please check if wow_image.php has the correct path in the img src=”…” line.
Thanks!
Regarding pagination for galleries: No, not yet, added this to the list of requested features for 0.5 :)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] wow_gallery - A complete gallery manager for Textpattern
Thanks for this plugin and you’re right TxP has been missing something like this, so well done. I have TxP in a sub directory and when in the Gallery Admin tab there is no image preview. Any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks
Lee

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] wow_gallery - A complete gallery manager for Textpattern
My fault, I put one of the files in the wrong place. But now when I click the preview image it’s not displayed in the pop up window. Looking at the source it gives the image path as <img src=”/wow_image.php?id=4” width=“2608” height=“1952” title=”“ alt=”“>, the path is incomplete.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] wow_gallery - A complete gallery manager for Textpattern
Lee: I get the same problem: <img src="//wow_image.php?id=15" width="800" height="1066" title="Lite text" alt="Lite text">
I seem to have a double slash in front of wow_image.php. Maybe this is editable in the source somewhere… I’m not very good at php-programming. Perhaps someone else can have a look at this?
Thanks in advance :)

Is there anywhere we can see a demo? Even just seeing how this works on the public side would be really helpful.

I’ll second the vote for a demo so we can see. I’ve been using the Simple PHP gallery application (which is really simple) and am up for something a little more capable. It would be wonderful to have something integrated with Txp so that management would all be in one place. In addition, having all the images accessible from within Txp would be a boon too.
Thanks…

I third it.
Can we see a demo please, or even some screen shots, to get an idea what its like?

I think it’s a great idea, but before I invest a lot of time and energy in a conversion, I need to know what I’m getting into.
Will it help if I say “pretty please?” ;)
Aside an aside, my gallery is at randomruminations.net/photos. It’s implemented in a very simple PHP script. I was happy to have it when I gave up my old (complex) gallery software, but I can say it would be very nice to have everything (all content) managed under the same roof.
So, this gallery implementation is a great idea!

I think it’s still an acceptable way of tackling the problem, and I’m looking forward to get some feedback on how it works for you guys. :)
My 2 cents? Storing images in the db just to circumvent any safe mode issues, is like printing and filing your emails just to avoid loosing them on a server crash =)
Any good and regular web host will turn safe mode off on request in a heartbeat without any complain. All it takes is one email to solve the problem.
But when they put your site offline because your huge DB keeps crashing the mysql server, one email won’t do a thing.
You’re probably looking at a dozen pictures gallery. Now imagine a 1200 pictures gallery or a 12000 one. Consider the size of the DB and ask yourself if it still seems acceptable to you.
But anyway, what about that demo? =)

I hear what you’re saying about putting the images in the database. That’s the only thing I have reservations about. I think having the gallery integrated with the Txp CMS, though, is a great idea.
I currently have three images stores: One is the set of images I use on my weblog, the second is my gallery, and the third is my photoblog. Each of these stores serves a different purpose, but if I could eliminate one of those stores that would be good.
