Work is under way to make Zem Contact Reborn support MLP without requiring an extra plugin.

More sweet music to my ears.
And the symphony, the real one, will be a folding of both MLP and ZCR into Txp 4.1 core.

Yes, my posting frequency dropped to almost nothing when I started work on this plugin but the arrival of our first child in February had something to do with it too.
It would be nice to do a test with Zem Contact Reborn…
The demonstration site is running an MLP compatible version of zem_contact_lang. If you look at the contact section of the site you’ll see everything localised and direction adjusted as you switch languages.
Basically the MLP Pack includes a ready-made replacement version of zem_contact_lang that is MLP aware but it looks like Ruud is working on merging the language helper plugin back into zem_contact_reborn and making it MLP aware too.
Ruud
thank you for the feedback, yes, the language switching tag uses messy urls (at the moment) for the sake of efficiency — and hence the first difference you mentioned between the urls generated by the switcher tag and the permlinks. I’ll get in contact via email to discuss with you as this area may need some more work.

Re: MLP Pack Feature Demonstration Site.
All
I can see from the site stats that people are testing out the language switcher and that it seems to be working fine. However, I see no one has tested out commenting yet and only a few folks have tried search strings.
Please feel free to test out the following areas…
- commenting
- searching
- feeds
- contact form
This is a great opportunity to uncover problems like yesterday’s problem for some people whose browser language request headers were not what the site was anticipating.
Edit: Doh! Just turned comment expiration off in the site preferences. For those of you who tried — but couldn’t — leave comments, my apologies. I’ll disable commenting again when the site gets spammed.
Many thanks.

Re: MLP Pack Feature Demonstration Site.
@Steve, commenting tested for the greek section. (polytonic and monotonic)

Re: MLP Pack Feature Demonstration Site.
I’ve re-worked most of the urls that Ruud pointed out in this post.
I haven’t fixed up the reported urls from the results of searches yet (the actual links are ok, but the text you see is missing the language marker.) These will have to wait.
Hopefully search engines will have a better experience indexing the site now.

This looks like an incredible powerful plugins for those developing textpattern sites for multiple languages. Excellent work, looking forward to its release.

Re: MLP Pack Feature Demonstration Site.
I did, very nicely done as well.
Can’t wait for your plugin pack. I am developing a danish/english website at the moment, so it will come in very handy.
best,
Christian
