Re: Ebl_batchupload
Thanks for putting up a demo. Just tried it – seems really good – noticed though that the “reset” button did not do anything after the processing was complete. Also the green processing progress bar stayed put after processing, perhaps it is intentional. (I used Safari on the Mac)
I would be happy to pay for this plugin – its really a big help and necessary for uploading more than one image.
Will you be upgrading the plugin in the future if you release it?

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Wow. I honestly didn’t think about what would happen if the ransom were never achieved, so I was a bit unprepared to answer this. So I thought it over for a couple of hours, and here’s my ransom conditions.
- First 5 people to donate to the ransom will receive a permanent mention/link in the plugin, and the flash file. (2 people so far have donated)
- Anyone who donates more than $25.00 will also, receive said mention/link.
- The ransom will continue until the amount is achieved, or I lose my patience (anywhere from 3 to 6 months)
- In the event my patience is lost, I will release the plugin, and will support only those who donated to the ransom.
- If the ransom is met, the plugin will continue to be supported.
- If the ransom is never met, I may or may not release newer / improved versions. (version A.005 will be readied tomorrow)
- If the ransom is met, the full source to the flash file will be released, if not, I’ll release only the basic actionscript from which I originally started.
I’m relatively new at this whole ransom thing. Originally I despised the idea, but being a broke college student has changed my perspective, slightly.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
I hope the ransom will be met fast. Thrown in another donation.
It’s quite the thing I need for some projects and colleagues/clients who like to have image galleries but have no clue of FTP and that things. The plugin would make Textpattern a good additional amount more usable for them as it is yet!
(And it would save me time and trouble uploading images for them!) :-)
So I think: A good investment.

And another $30 from me. Think this plugin will help a lot of people. Its going to be really easy for clients to use. Good luck with the plugin.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Interesting idea here. Just a few questions
- Is this Flash-based?
- Assuming the images are stored in the db, let’s say someone wants to create an article with multiple images..how would they reference them? TXP id? URL?
- Will your Crop plugin also be ransom-ware?

Yes. Flash 8+ is required for this plugin to function.

The same way you reference images uploaded the traditional way. This plugin just changes the method of uploading these images.
- Will your Crop plugin also be ransom-ware?
I don’t know. I really haven’t decided. Ask me again in a couple weeks.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
Revision A.008 of the flash file has been posted. It includes new help dialogs, and now allows the maximum filesize to be set by the user/textpattern.

Re: Ebl_batchupload
I have no experience with flash in textpattern sites:
Assumed someone hasn’t yet flash installed in the browser, what will be shown?
Is there an (really) easy way for the users/clients to get flash onto their computer? With only one button preferable?
Can’t wait the ransom be reached :-)
My colleagues are daily unceasingly asking “when will you show us how to upload and present our galleries…”.

Most everyone should have the flash browser plugin installed, but if not a blank popup is all they will see.
If they need it installed they should be redirected to flash plugin install site automatically.
If not you go simply go here and follow the instructions. It should be painless.
