Re: just a single article in one div?

ok so now ive put the default section back to using the default page and style and put a link on it using:

a href=“txp:site_url />about”>about</a

which should link to my about section which uses my own templates.

when i click the link on the default section i just get page not displayed and this in the address bar:

txp:site_url%20/>about

any ideas?

Re: just a single article in one div?

<blockquote>a href=”txp:site_url />about”>about</blockquote>

Try <code><a href=”<txp:site_url />/about”>about</a></code>

Re: just a single article in one div?

Try <code><a href=”<txp:site_url />/about”>about</a></code>

no that doesnt work either. Just gives:

The requested URL /textpattern//about was not found on this server.

I think the original <code><a href=”<txp:site_url />about”>about</a></code>

is right because ive used it before.

Re: just a single article in one div?

You’re right—I forgot that Textpattern automatically adds a trailing slash.

My main point is, make sure you have your quotes and your markup correct. The code you pasted in post #14 of this thread won’t work because the tags (both xhtml and Textpattern) are badly formed.

Re: just a single article in one div?

Yeah i know it was badly formed, the reason being i took the brackets off because i couldnt remember how to post code in this forum. Its correct in my textpattern site.

Its just not wroking. I have a section named solutions4 using my style and page templates.

Ive then got this link on my default page:

<code> <a href=”<txp:site_url />solutions4”>about</a></code>

and when i click it i get a url not found on this server

im sorry to be a pain and keep posting but im just hoping someone may have had this problem before.

I have thoroughly checked all my code and cant see anything wrong with it

Re: just a single article in one div?

This may be a stupid-sounding question, but are you sure that the section is named “solutions4”? That it’s spelled correctly and is in all lowercase?

Re: just a single article in one div?

Hi

right ive looked at my diagnsostics and they indicated my server uses messy urls. So i went to admin preferences found that it was already set to messy. I also deleted htaccess.

When i click on the link it still desnt take me to my next section.

Ive now changed the section name to 1 and changed everything associated with it to the number 1 so im sure now that ive got no wrong spellings anywhere!

i dont get it!

Re: just a single article in one div?

Did you change the link accordingly?
<code>
<a href=”<txp:site_url />index.php?s=1”>about</a></code>
