All Textpattern requires is a MySQL database, a tool capable of uploading its source files correctly, and an accurate config.php file. If BBEdit or your FTP program is mangling the config.php file, I’m afraid there’s not much Textpattern can be expected to do about it. Textpattern itself never alters the content of any of its files.
