Re: Plugin Requests

@Mary, one of those uses a Geshi file,

That’s just a PHP script “library”, i.e: a PHP script. All you do is download it, then upload it, just like you’d do for the WP plugin. The GeSHi one Steve linked to even shows you where you can upload it to. But I’m sure either plugin author or anyone at the forum would help you if you had troubles with it.

However if these are still not what you’re after, I can add your request. In that case, do you want something original with special/specific features, or just a port of the WP plugin?

Re: Plugin Requests

It simply comes down to those things:

1)the sed_display code won’t do, since it doesn’t have colors, and the line numbers are the last thing that’s needed
(Those you need, when you are searching code block that have thousands of lines, that you probably won’t post online anyway)
2) No Geshi stuff
3)Need also Syntax-reformating, not only coloring.
4)All the code inside the plugin (No extra stuff hanging around outside the plugin code)
5) Id like to tweak the CSS for code display as well and have it accessible from the Style tab.
6)Must support PHP , CSS, and XHTML code (may be txp tags as well)
7)The word-press plugin I think is perfect for that, in WP it is simply invoked with code/code

UPDATE.: I hadn’t asked for regular expressions, as I assume that those are difficult, so I just cut that out.

regards, what about textile, would it be difficult without throghing Textile out ?

Re: Plugin Requests

Marios:

FYI: I’m working on a port of the WP plugin right now. As everything seems to be going right now, I’d like to have it finished in a few days. But it’s not a guarantee.

My Photoblog, and my personal site. Got nav? ako_nav.
Thanks for taking the time to look…

That’s nice ako , it is nothing really urgent, but it was something, that was on my wishlist for quite some time now.
So I start This pledge at around 50 Euro, Is there anyone else, who is interested in such a thing, so ako doesn’t have to waste his valuable time ?

@Mary, maybe you could add it to the list above ?

regards, marios

Re: Plugin Requests

Mary, please consider my claim on hold until marios can evaluate Graeme’s plugin.

Re: Plugin Requests

I just had a look at the relevant post info note, where it says, that it is not ready yet for a live Site.
And it is difficult for me to evaluate it anyway, I would have to test it locally (no problem from my side, but little time),
So , since Graemes version is already released, how would it be, if net-carver claims the pledge and tries to evaluate the code Graeme released, and if any of that turns out to be useful to be merged, and improve the whole thing, then it could may be turn into a small joint-venture, so we can attract a little more funds.
But legally net-carver had first claimed the pledge, so it is up to him to decide.

(If then the above would not be possible, I would think that net-carver owns the pledge even if there are differences in the quality of the code)

@Mary, what do you think ?

Re: Plugin Requests

Work it out amongst yourselves. There’s no “legality” to it, its an honour system that depends upon folks being honest and reasonable. :)

No need to get into legalities! The main point, as far as I see it, is you getting what you need to do your work. If Graeme’s plugin can do that for you then you already have a match and he should get rewarded for his work :O)

I have started looking into Graeme’s plugin and like what I see so far. It has an interesting admin side that you should consider to help you firm up your ideas in that area. On the data-storage side it is different from what my skeleton plugin does but there is nothing wrong with that.

Re: Plugin Requests

Just another notice on that. Could it be done to have a full non-messy URL-scheme ?
(I had already mentioned that in my first post )

Re: Plugin Requests

Guys,

I’ve never had any intention of putting forward claim the request for this. I don’t have time or the drive to get it finished. I only wanted to release the work I have done to help whoever needs it.

If net-carver would like to use my code he is more than welcome, in which case, I would like to ask that I remain involve in some form. This has more to do with amount of time and work I have already put into this plugin. Hope you understand.
