Re: Plugin Requests
Walker, it might be better to create tables for your plugin to avoid mess.
There are functions to allow the user install/uninstall tables for your plugin, that i borrowed from a Mary’s plugin (thanks Mary), and made them somewhat generic.
(custom textpattern tables to masses?!)

Re: Plugin Requests
Yura,
Thanks for the nice examples of how to do that (and Mary too). I will probably need to make use of custom DB tables for a forthcoming plugin so that will save me a lot of work.
Aside: It’s nice to see my plugin being used on a live site!

Re: Plugin Requests
Yeah, after spending quite some time struggling with textile to just display the code i decided to switch to your plugin. Thank you too, Steve ;)

Re: Plugin Requests
I have a request – $20 if anyone can help. Bear with me while I explain, I’m useless at explaining stuff so I’ll try and be as clear as I can.
My friend is a photographer, and has been looking for a CMS to automate the process of uploading sets of images to his site.
The layout is pretty simple – A front page with a “What’s New” column consisting of a small thumbnail preview of the set, it’s date/title and the number of images in the set, and a gallery page with links to each category and the sets within them.
His folder naming scheme on the server is pretty logical: gallery/category/set. What he’s looking to achieve is to be able to upload his images to the server, e.g. gallery/bicycles/red_bicycle, log into Textpattern and point to that folder, enter a title/category and the number of images in the set, click “Post”, and have the front page update, gallery page update, and a thumbnail gallery for that set be created.
I think that’s pretty much it. If you need me to be more specific don’t hesitate to ask.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Plugin Requests
We built it a while ago and have been using it to build many artist’s websites. We’re currently: cleaning up the gallery management page’s design, adding gallery ordering and sub-galleries, and trying to get the whole app to have a unified appearance.

Re: Plugin Requests
Oh, btw, Ragger, does my proposal on the shoutbox front sound good?
We’ve yet to hear from you on it as the requester.

Re: Plugin Requests
I appreciate that you are willing to put time and effort in such a plugin, but I don’t think it will do for me. It’s Flash based, and apart from the fact that I dislike Flash (to say it politely :) ), a significant amount of my ‘audience’ is behind corporate networks and firewalls (or other security measures – Web Marshal, anyone?) that block Flash completely.
So, sorry, your proposal doesn’t sound good :)
But thanks anyway!

…that i borrowed from a Mary’s plugin…
And I borrowed it from the Txp installer. :)
So does the shoutbox plugin pass to Bastian?

Re: Plugin Requests
Was there ever any solution drummed up for this, or something like it? Basically, Paypal integration? That would be nice.
