Re: asy_captcha (Anti-Spam), Txp 4.0.3 and up

Somehow I got my the installed correctly. But it still doesn’t work. Nothing appears underneath / aside the comment form at all. Do I need to add any tag to the comment form?

I have already activated the plugin and I only use two other plugins: tcm_rss and rss_suparchive. What can be the problem?

It only appears after you press the preview button. When the submit is visible, too.

I’ve installed this plugin, set it up accordingly and it doesn’t work. When I hit the preview button, it shows the scrambled image but there’s no input box for it. Any ideas?

You need to be more specific – how exactly did you set it up? Do you get any messages in debug-mode? Can you provide a link so we can see? Is it possible that the input-box is there, but you didn’t recognize it due to line-breaks, css-rules etc.?

I added the following to my comments_form form:
<code><txp:if_comments_preview> <txp:asy_captcha_image /><br />
</txp:if_comments_preview></code>

You can go <a href=“http://avarice.oneeightseven.org”>here</a> to try it out.

Also, no messages show up in debugging mode.

Well, you didn’t follow the directions. You places the image, but did not place the input box. Please re-read the instructions in help.

I’m having a hard time getting this to work on http://theassassinsdream.com/Guestbook. Here’s the error I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getnextnonce() in /home/content/j/d/t/jdtownsend/html/textpatternsite1/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(455) : eval()’d code on line 80

@trumpetmic: it Says Requirements: Textpattern 4.0.3 and up; The errormessage say that you are mising a core function of textpattern, which means you are either using an outdated version of textpattern, or you have modified or replaced some of the files of your textpattern installation.

Re: asy_captcha (Anti-Spam), Txp 4.0.3 and up

Thanks for the reply! I saw that requirement, so I upgraded to that version of txp right before trying out your captcha, so the error probably isn’t caused by an outdated txp. Which part of the core could be the problem? I’m not sure which part I modified because it’s been a while, but perhaps we can find a way to identify the missing link. Can you think of any way this might be possible? I’m at a loss.

Re: asy_captcha (Anti-Spam), Txp 4.0.3 and up

This FAQ-Entry tells you how you can check whether you’ve upgraded correctly. You’ll probably want to start by checking out /publish/comment.php.

Also: Do you get any errors when you turn off the plugin and want to comment?

If you’re not able to fix the issue, please post your diagnostics here so I can take a look.

I will look into that.

When I remove the plugin call code, the comments page works.

Here’s the site, by the way: http://theassassinsdream.com (it was my first txp site ever!) :)
