Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

Do any of the other buttons work? Are you getting any errors? Are any other plugins running in the write tab? Also make sure you are accessing the site through the exact same url that is in your Admin -> Preferences -> Site URL. If that has a www make sure you are using the www. Browsers won’t grab javascript from what they perceive as other domains for security reasons. I’m working of fixing this.

All buttons except the 4 I mentioned work.
Getting no errors.
No other plugins on the write tab.
Accessing through the right url.

If you need anything else let me know.

Cheers, Lee.

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

What browser are you using?

Is everything straight out of the zip? (ie: you haven’t altered the plugin code at all).

Check to see if you see the same behavior on the official demo at moxiecode just to rule out that it’s something with tinyMCE itself.

Also if you could post or send me the source for your write page that can help a ton, because It allows me to see if anything is different in how things are getting called.

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

I downloaded and used the tinyMCE php gzip compressor that is located on the Moxiecode site and that works wonderfully. It makes the editor load a lot faster.

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

Is anyone having trouble with some of the buttons in tinyMCE not working. I can’t get bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, numbering or bullets to work. Other things like the link button, paragraph alignment and style list work fine?

I don’t blame Congress. If I had $600 billion, I’d be irresponsible too.

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

Lee above mentioned the same problem but I never got any more info from him to troubleshoot it. I’ve still been unable to replicate it so I don’t know what causes it.

Any chance you could post the page source up somewhere? That way I can see if it’s something being called inproperly or something. Are you running any other plugins in the write tab?

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

I had the same problem, but when I went back to the site yesterday, after changing nothing, it started working!

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

I’m trying to see if I can find some info from the moxiecode forums on this but so far no luck. I’m glad you got it working.

Also please let me know what browsers this is happening on. Specially if it works on one and not another.

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

Any more thoughts on bending this plugin to work in the excerpt field too? It would be nice to not require users to learn textile or HTML just for the excerpt.

BTW: I know you are working on a lot of stuff mrJoon. Don’t want to be annoying, just curious.

Re: hak_tinymce WYSIWYG article editor

I actually have this pretty much working. I’m just trying to incorporate tinyfly’s request for no editor for an article originally created with textile and then it’s out.

I’m hoping by this weekend, actually I might release it this weekend either way since the excerpt functionality is working already. I ended up having 2 checkboxes for the editor excerpt and article. That seemed like the best way to accomodate all the options without a bunch of logic gymnastics.

My workload at work is easing up so I’m hoping to have some more time to work on TXP.
