Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
:D
You Stuart are something!
Frontpage www.domain.com/ (in section frontpage) works ok as well contact (in section contact) with ako_nav when I tested. Besides those I have several other pages that are pulled from articles. I guess I could achieve it making a separate section for each one of the pages but is that very reasonable? Besides that I have site in two languages which use different header and footer so if I have understood the system here correctly, I should have 20 sections?
On other installation I´m also trying to style active link to photo gallery page http://www.domain.com/section/?c=categoryname.
Guess it would be easiest to link those sites here as a demo but they are not yet officially published so…

Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
I’m definitely something but no-one has worked out what yet!
I don’t suppose these individual articles would happen to be in unique categories?
Your other site should work using “if_category” tags.

Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
No, I have only two categories, based on used language. And those ones are merely just for admin content management, there are pages with same title with both languages.
So I guess there is no easy way out, nor even “okay” way styling those active navi tabs? 20 sections and 20 times if_section-tag does not sound very simple solution for one navigation effect. I have to test, if I get it working with categories.

Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
So what if you gave them unique categories maybe using category2 for the job then linked to them with a category call?

Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
p – haven’t read your post in detail and no site to look at … but can you add the links dynamically through a form or multiple forms?
if you’re listing articles, you could use an article or article_custom tag calling a form that builds the link … using this form of the permalink tag:
<a href="<txp:permlink />" class="<txp:title />" "><txp:title /></a>
similarly, use this approach in your body tag… then you have a hook for css active styling, e.g.
body#consumables a.consumables {color:red}
(you could use a custom field for this purpose, or any other ‘article’ field)
there may be easier ways of course : )

Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
Okay… I didn´t quite understand what you mean. I´m using form allready to call header in, and that navigation is in header kinda between other stuff so I could not (or wasn´t skilled enough) to make navigation to be called in from separate form. :)
The one site in question, I did those 20 sections :D, got it working. Gonna test other ways to another site since I get it´s basic structure okay. But over all, this navigation active-tab rule is something that makes me feel just total unskilled idiot!

Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
there are forms, forms and forms : ) what I suggested above is not a txp:output_form thing… but an <txp:article listform="list-article-pages-with-active-links" />
kind of thing
clear as mud?

Re: selected sections highlighted in navbar
listform… one of the attributes for txp:article tag
altho you’d probably want to use txp:article_custom to list articles (pages) for a nav list
