Perhaps it’s the wrong time and place to mention it, but the redesigned Textpattern Resources site would benefit from having an easy way to view templates/themes. Browsing to the appropriate designer’s site to see a screenprint is not as clean as the Zen Garden or Alex King’s site. Beyond that, those of us with no design skills need more templates/themes. Just my 2 cents.
Great choice on the logo BTW.

I am really very disappointed. The web is full of men. TXP is dominated by men and now you choose such a male´ish symbol as well. Honestly your choice disappoints me a lot.

heh. you know, this was actually a subject of discussion while we were deciding back a week ago or so.. “but someone might protest that it’s male…”
it was considered. yes the internet, webdesign, and textpattern all seem male-dominated, and it was a possibility that someone or somefifty would be offended by a reinforcement of the existing Textpattern logo, the Carving/Chiseling/Blank Slate Guy.
But very basically, the Digging Guy seemed to be a nice complement to the existing Chiseling Guy, and you could argue that it would have been reverse discrimination to eliminate the Digging Guy. I’m sure the Digging Guy likes men and women of all shapes, sizes, ages, colors, and most personalities.
side thought: if there’s coordination between the main txp sites, we could make it into sort of a family.. Besides the Chiseling and Digging persons, could have a Reading Gal, Kid holding flowers, etc.

I see no problem with that though personally I’d rather have someone sitting in the garden at an easle drawing a picture. I think the name needs connecting to the content or people are going to start thinking it’s a gardening site especially as there seems to be a lack of interest in the style competition at the moment. I’m also wondering whether there’s a need to keep posting new styles to 2 different sites? Maybe the Resource site could pass all styles to TextGarden?

i think the lack of interest may largely be because, as 6sigma mentioned above, people are waiting for a simple way to preview templates/skins, and then easily implement them on their own sites. that’s my take on it.
i’ve been expecting that templates would move to Textgarden once it’s ready. I agree with 6sigma, though, that whereever the templates are, there should be

Did you get that? Anyway this is going off the point of this thread a bit but I wouldn’t object to someone coming up with a nice graphic along the lines that I mentioned. ;)

sounds good to me. instead of the stone table, could have an easel, and a paintbrush. might be pretty to have the guy/girl is kneeling/sitting, with evidence of a few blades of grass and maybe a flower or two.
