[plugin] [ORPHAN] mdp_calendar

mdp_calendar allows you to create a calendar of live articles for a certain month. The calendar itself is a small table of dates and links to the articles. Different months can be navigated to by the user, or only a particular month can be shown. Both a large version of the calendar, which links to all articles, and a more compact version are available.

mdp_calendar

This is version 0.4. Big rewrite, works much better. Please update, email me any bugs, but I’m thinking there won’t be too many of them. Big features:

  • mdp_calendar broken into two tags: mdp_calendar_large and mdp_calendar_small
  • Internationalization of month and day names
  • User adjustable beginning of week, default is Sunday
  • If given ID’s, multiple calendars on a page can be navigated seperately.

Remember <mdp_calendar /> => <mdp_calendar_large /> and <mdp_calendar smallformat="1" /> => <mdp_calendar_small />

There are few more changes, everything is in the help section of the plugin. Please use this thread for now on when talking about my calendar plugin.

I’ve updated the plugin to incorporate some bug fixes people have sent me. Please upgrade before you post or email me. If there is a problem, even after upgrading and making sure you have latest revision of TXP RC3, please email me with as much detail and as many as examples as possible.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mdp_calendar

Defining the class doesn’t work. Only <table> shows up with no class.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mdp_calendar

Thanks for both making and updating this great plugin for us, greenrift!
It means a lot for my sites navigation.
I have just tried the new small calendar and noticed a few small things:

Help example tag spells: txp:mdp_large_calendar ; your tag is txp:mdp_calendar_large.
Navigation doesn’t link to specified section.
firstday=“integer” for monday is : “0” on my system.
No titles on the linked days anymore.

And then a few questions:

How do you get the headers to display just the first letter of the day?

Is it ‘normal’ to let url parameter month equal the old date ?
(?month=2005-04-03) I’ve gotten used to that string beeing called date, and month usualy eqalling one number.
All my other navigation stuff depends on these two different parameters. I’ll have to change mine of course if it has become a standard..

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mdp_calendar

I haven’t toyed with the new version yet, but in the old version you only had to set the ‘displayfuture’ attribute like this:

txp:mdp_calendar displayfuture=“1” section=“events”

I can’t imagine he would have disabled the feature. Give that a try. Naturally you’ll want to change the section name to whatever you use.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mdp_calendar

I can’t get this to work … I’m using:

txp:mdp_calendar smallformat=“1” /

But calendar does not show. I’m running RC3 revision 372. Plugin is set to Yes for active.

Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mdp_calendar

You should be using:-

mdp_calendar_small

or

mdp_calendar_large

and leave a space before any other attributes.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mdp_calendar

It also works for me…

The problem was the I used the example from the plugin help file. txp:mdp_large_calendar category=”…” section=”…” And it should be txp:mdp_calendar_small …. or txp:mdp_calendar_large ….
