[Solved] Unable to use the <txp:php> tag in an article

Hi,
I can’t use the <txp:php> tag in an article; the following code <txp:php>echo 'test';</txp:php> throws the following error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in …/test/textpattern/publish/taghandlers.php(4344) : eval()'d code on line 2

Of course my prefs are set to accept PHP in articles.
Nothing seem to be wrong in diagnostics and it is a fresh install.
I even switch the PHP version without any result…

Is that someting you already noticed in the past?
