Re: Is kaizengarden down? Yes it is. Please move on!

Hi Folks,

First, gratitude to Destry for pointing me here… had noticed Jacques dropped-off Google Hangouts & the site is in Guru Meditation… but, was in denial that this meant something bad.

It’s been a wild ride since joining TextDrive, but I now need to move my email & sites to a more stable environment. <strike>Any recommendations for site hosting?</strike>. Signed-up for Webfaction.

I, of course, will be interested to see if KG resumes communication. Jacques did try very hard to honor the obligations made by Dean. Perhaps there are legal issues hampering the new effort.

Indeed. Hope all is well and J is healthy

I moved to webfaction.com after the demise of Texttdrive, I have been well served by their hosting services and the costs are reasonable. Email is solid as well

Re: Is kaizengarden down? Yes it is. Please move on!

Having watched for any activity at KZG and seen none, I’ve moved over to Pair while I still could access my files. Coming round to check for updates after my migration, even though my TXP site is only dormant in the sense that a fossil is resting, I eventually made my way to this discussion. (For what it’s worth, upgrade was smooth and easy, as always. Thanks, team!)

Gotta say, it’s kind of nice to see lots of familiar names still here.

Re: Is kaizengarden down? Yes it is. Please move on!

All offline:

  • KG website
  • Forum
  • PowerDNS
  • Challenger1
  • Mailstore

Anything else? Other servers? My.Kaizen Garden? Mail? Yep.

(Using my phone so can’t test everything at the moment.)

1 My sever.

EDIT: Mail is down too. That’s new. I’m pretty sure this is the end, everyone.

All seems down from here too. Even kaizengarden.co returns a 503.

I surely hope not as my last db backups did not work out for some reason!

Re: Is kaizengarden down? Yes it is. Please move on!

My sites are down. Email stopped early Saturday morning.

So sad this whimpered out…

I got another invoice on Friday, but there is no avenue for paying it as the Kaizen site is inaccessible. Pretty sure Jacques must realize that.

Re: Is kaizengarden down? Yes it is. Please move on!

mail just came back, as did my.kaizen.co I was just testing dns to see if it had propagated to pointing to Webfaction and my first test emails started to showed up through my kaizen account just as the newest ones were coming in through webfaction. The emails I’ve missed over the last few days are trickling in (not that I’m going to point DNS back to kaizen now). I’m impressed at how cheap and easy it was to get going on webfaction.

Thanks a lot for that update. Very appreciated. An interesting turn of events.

I hate to say it, because I have a lot of respect and sympathy for Jacques and what he’s been through — not only with not getting his due from TextDrive, but with his valiant efforts to rescue those former TextDrivers that were also cast to the sea. But the lack of communication over the last many weeks, and the unanswered support requests… That isn’t doing it right. It’s just omens of TextDrive all over again. Anyone from that history is tired of it.

I wish Kaizen Garden the best, and I’ll continue to support Jacques’ efforts from the sidelines, as long as he’s in the fight, but I think he’s going to take a hit from this as customers shift.
