The first parse error was before the plugins were activated, just after first installation.

Hence anything must have gone wrong during that installation, FTP apps tend to fail.
Re-do the FTP process for the files textpattern/include/txp_tag.php and textpattern/publish/taghandlers.php and try logging in again.
