Article Body Issue In Firefox (hak_TinyMCE related)
Group:
Not sure what has happened, but currently one of my clients is unable to edit their articles in Firefox. Everything works fine in IE. When the articles loads the body area blips and you see the contents for a second and then goes blank. If I hit the HTML or Preview tab I see the contents for existing articles.
To add a little more information, if you go to the excerpt area of an article the problem does not occur.
For new articles, you are not able to get a cursor in the body area. For whatever reason, the word “paragraph” blips.
This client is using TinyMCE and Version 4.4.1.
I tested with another client using the same set up and this is not an issue so I do not believe it is the TinyMCE plug in.
Does anybody have any ideas on how I can further investigate/troubleshoot what may be occurring and figure a way to resolve it.
Thanks.

What happens when Javascript is deactivated? What when no style is used? (Menu View > Website Style, translated from my menu) What happens when you deactivate admin plugins? (Preferences > Advanced)

In bad weather I never leave home without wet_plugout, smd_where_used and adi_form_links

Re: Article Body Issue In Firefox (hak_TinyMCE related)
Deactivating Javascript — then does not load TinyMCE editor — and you can place cursor in filed — the same thing with deactivating admin side plug ins —-
No sure what to do regarding your comment with the no style part —-
There must be a conflict (not sure why just now) between the TinyMCE (body area) and something else —
Just do not know how to pin it down and why it just started —-

To add something more to the equation for anyone who may be able to help — the issue does NOT occur in Chrome.

No hidden message: simply turn off CSS.
I said so because I can’t see what you see and “blip” (seems to stem from aviatory language) also gives me no clue what’s meant. My idea was/is that some JS injection adds styles/classes that places something totally outside the screen/puts an invisible layer on top of the tab, the text area, whatever, which both could well happen only in FF.

Re: Article Body Issue In Firefox (hak_TinyMCE related)
I had this problem over the weekend, only on one site on the server, but I have many… It also only occurred in FF.
What I did to solve it is to download TinyMCE 3.5b2 and replace all the TinyMCE files (remember to keep the txp_image plugin) – hakjoon mentions this in the Tiny_MCE thread

tye:
I think what I have seen is that it is related to FF 11.0 — older versions of FF do not have the issue — the odd things is that not all my sites have this issue —-
I will try your fix —

no worries progre55, I just checked and it was FF11.0 my client was using
Hopefully upgrading will fix your problem though.

Re: Article Body Issue In Firefox (hak_TinyMCE related)
This issue was still occurring for me after I upgraded to TinyMCE 3.5b3. After some Googling I found that it might be caused by multiple instances of TinyMCE on the one page, i.e. for the article body AND article excerpt. Disabling the editor for the article excerpt seems to get it working again.

Re: Article Body Issue In Firefox (hak_TinyMCE related)
Thank you! I’ve been stuggling with this for weeks! Chrome was fine, firefox blanked the textarea. Turning off for the article excerpt fixes it.

Well, I am not that lucky – running textpattern 4.4.1 with latest hak_tinymce and latest TinyMCE (3.5b3), the editor does not show up regardless of its settings, and regardless of browser used.
“So, where is the patch?”
