Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

I feel I might be missing out on something here…

What possibilities would recording the dimensions and integration with smd_thumbnail offer?

Just curious.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

To use the abilities of ebl_image_edit to create thumbnails in tandem with the ability of smd_thumbnail to handle new thumbnail profiles.
That is, to use ebl_image_edit to create thumbnails that can be assigned to a particular smd_thumbnail profile. Even better if ebl_image_edit can read smd_thumbnail profiles and create some pre-defined cropping/resizing values.

I’ve already expressed this idea at smd_thumbnail thread.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

I see.

It does sound like quite a task though and only useful for those that actually employ smd_thumbnail. Personally I still use the quick&dirty method of downsizing thumbs with CSS; I have yet to encounter problems with that.

I had. A picky client noted “those small thumbs seem strange, can you do something to sharpen them?”. smd_thumbnail didn’t exist at the time. :)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

I’ve resumed work on ebl_image_edit and anticipate a release, shortly.

I will not be be working on any shape, manner, or form any integration with other plugins. Ever.

Image + thumbnail sharpening as an additional option.
Backup images remain in the backup folder after restoring.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

Masa : Already done.

Uli :
  • Good idea. Overwrite only on backup. Should there be a delete backup option as well?
  • Not sure about adding GD sharpening. That would best done through Photoshop/GIMP I would imagine.

Dale : Huh? Elaborate or make me a sandwich.
