Christmas fund for TXP Developers 2010

Announcing a fund raising effort to thank and reward the Textpattern Developers team for all their efforts and hard work on Textpattern in the past year.

We have done this in years past and it worked well – see here or here for example. Not sure if we did this in 2009 but I think not – so this fund raising effort is past due and I hope you will join in by sending any amount, large or small.

Thanks to Neko for contacting me and asking if I’d be happy to host the fund raising – so this is all his idea.

How it works:

  1. We collect donations until December 31st
  2. I’ll update this post every few days regarding how much we have collected and the donors’ names
  3. On January 1st we’ll split the total amount collected in three (we have three devs) and send the appropriate amount directly to the Developer’s PayPal accounts
  4. Please use “Donation” or “Gift” from the PayPal dropdown menu to avoid any charges (not sure about this)

Thanks in advance to the community!

Total Donated amount, and the final list of donors:

€930

Re: Christmas fund for TXP Developers 2010

I’d love to donate but I closed my PayPal account, and would rather not use their service.

Are there alternative methods to send payment?

Would Flattr be an option? Though it takes a while before people get their money. I’m in the same situation, though this time luckily I donated just before I decided not to use Paypal anymore ;)

Edit: Moneybookers?

I would love to donate, too. However, PayPal suspended my account due to a too long period of inactivity. And I am not planning to spend time contacting their support.

Re: Christmas fund for TXP Developers 2010

No plans to use anything other than PayPal at the moment – its the easiest since all 3 developers use it for donations, as listed on the TXP.com patrons page. I do see however that Stef has an Amazon wish list but not sure about the other two.

Perhaps some contribution in that way would be ok?

Els – I don’t see your donation – but you are listed on the patrons page as a recent donor. Just want to be sure you are credited in case you donated in another name and I missed it..

Jonathan, I meant I donated before you started this thread. Same thing happened in other years, I am too fast… ;)

Last day for contributions! Original post updated with current donors and the amount collected so far, which is not bad at all but we always want more! Any amount is kindly appreciated.
