Since you have an account and I’m going to be taking a look in detail at TXP’s image system (interface as well as tag set) sometime soon, if you could share any details on what Cargo does that might be useful for imaging in TXP, it’d be appreciated. Plagiarism is, after all, the sincerest form of flattery :-)

I’ve emailed you a login. :)

Hi whaleen,
Have you been doing anything with cargo?
Bloke did you take a look at it?
Don’t like the idea of having to keep it on their servers..

Re: another cms geared at designers

…and here comes yet another cms geared at designers. http://weareastronauts.org/core-cms
It kinda looks and feels like the cargocollective cms. The difference is that you can run it at your own server.
Just downloaded it and played with it a while. The backend is very basic and there are some tools given to customize
the look and feel. The frontend is clean and very minimalistic. Perfect for showing off work. (the preloader makes it
kinda pleasing for the eye). Looks promising. What I really would like to see is something similar done with TXP.
(preloader, jfade etc) Although I have some experience with TXP, I’m really not a coder. I’m a designer by proffession
and this makes it a whole lot harder. Will watch the Core cms development for a while and see if its is worth getting
your hands dirty.

Re: another cms geared at designers

I just set up an account with cargo. If I was a photographer, videographer or illustrator who was not selling on line I would probably use it for my primary site. But it is limited in it’s current form to portfolio sites. It’s interesting that all of the templates, which are really nice, use typography as the main interface design element. Sound familiar. But check out the slick use of javascript in the below templates.
