Re: aro_myadmin

Aeron

No problem. If you want the final source code, just get in contact and I’ll send it over by return email (when I’ve cleaned it up a little) — it would be great if it could make it into your official release rather than having to live in an “alt” version.

Re: aro_myadmin

Jonathan

Can you give aro_myadmin.v0.3.5.alt.gz.txt a try and let me know if it still maintains compatibility with all your plugins. If it does I can send the source for this cleaned-up version over to Aeron.

Many thanks.

Re: aro_myadmin

Hi Steve, just downloaded your file and tested all 3 plugins mentioned earlier – all seems fine. Thanks again.

Re: aro_myadmin

Thanks Steve! I’ve updated the downloadable and moved the sources over to Github (thanks for the recommendation Steve – I’ve been wanting an excuse to check out Git!) – anyone who wants to contribute, checkout the plugin from the repository!

Thanks again to everyone for their enthusiasm and support – I’m glad this plugin proved to be useful for more than just me!

y’r pal -Aeron

Re: aro_myadmin

All

Aeron’s been kind enough to allow me to be a contributor to the GitHub repository for his plugin so I’ve committed my changes. Here’s aro_myadmin.v1.0.27.gz.txt

Features

  • Should play well with other plugins.
  • Nicely faded welcome message on login1.
  • Per admin-user and per privilege-level dashboard forms. Now John and Jane can have different dashboards — or Publishers’ dashboards can differ from Editors’ etc.
  • MLP compatibility2
    • Renames the “articles” tab to “renditions” if MLP is installed and active.
    • Language picker in the head area.
    • All strings exposed to the MLP string editor.
  • Editable footer strings (allows branding and/or other content in the footers)…
    • One for the login page.
    • Another covers all the other admin pages.
  • CSS styles in the help section
  • Updated help

Warning…

This build changes the dashboard-form naming convention. If you are going to upgrade, you’ll need to rename your “aro_dashboard” form (if you use one) to aro_myadmin_dash.

1 Caveat: It only works if the URL that brings you to your site doesn’t explicitly list an event. So, going to http://mysite.tld/textpattern/index.php and logging-in will give you the message — but going to http://mysite.tld/textpattern/index.php?event=blahblahblah won’t.

2 I’ve also updated the development version of the MLP Pack to allow the use of snippets in the dashboard forms — useful for your ML client sites.

Good work Steve, TxP doesn’t feel right without this plugin.

Re: aro_myadmin

hey guys, I’ve made an alternative styling based on nemoorange’s small marine theme.
I made it mostly for myself, cause I’ve gotten used to my favorite txp admin theme, but if anypne’s interested, I can clean up, package and post.
