Yes, Mary, I mean the hosts file in the drivers folder under the Windows directory. Thanks for asking… I’ve almost resigned myself to typing in “localhost” in the URL. You deserve an award for your dedication in helping noobs like me! :)

I just ran into this problem myself.
Check to make sure that at the bottom of httpd.conf, the line which includes httpd-vhosts.conf is uncommented!
It looks like this by default:
# Virtual hosts
#Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
but it should look like this:
# Virtual hosts
Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
