Re: [Archived] stw_category_tree

Yep you’re right, li.onclass a indeed does the trick. Also everything I’ve tested is working in Safari Mac.

A suggestion if I can; is it possible to have an admin preference that forces the plugin only to show nested categories (parent/child) on the Menu Control page and not parents without children, if you get my drift. I’m thinking of removing clutter that might confuse a non tech client when reordering a menu. If not no big deal.

Thanks again, I love this plugin, I’ve been waiting a couple of years for something like this – be nice if it could be in the core.

This plugin is so useful it might be worth starting a new thread so people don’t miss it.

Re: [Archived] stw_category_tree

Moving a child from 1 parent to another in the content/categories tab causes the new parent to be shown as a child of itself in the category tree output (not in the content/categories tab).

I’ll look into it, thanks. In the previous post, you mean not showing the children of a parent if they’re single children?

Wow, this was quite a nasty bugger actually. Was ordering by the idx field (added by the admin part) when fetching the categories from the db, putting them into an array sequentially, then checking previous array entries to get the number of ancestors and thus the level of nesting. Well, that kinda breaks when you move categories from one parent to another without updating the idx, like txp usually does ;). Got a rough fix for it now, but it did involve rewriting most of the ordering code. I’ll try to get it out this week, don’t have that much time for it atm.

Thanks for taking the time to fix it, very much appreciated – hope it didn’t spoil your evening!

Think I did – i.e. so only parents with children are show.

Just noticed that the admin part of txp loads jquery by default – would you happen to know if I can rely on jquery being available? That would make things much easier for a feature like this.

Nice. New version is 1a.2. Lee, I think the checkbox at top of the admin page does something like you requested ;).

Hi Paul, working absolutely perfectly.

Do you like curries? I’ve just imported the best curry packets in the world direct from India, I could send you a couple if you like.

This looks really good. Adds some really useful additional capabilities to an already useful plugin.

I wonder if it might be better to break this off into a new thread. That way you could keep a changelog at the the top of the thread.

Just an idea.

Hi Lee,

Thanks man, that sounds great! Can I send you an email with my address details somewhere?
