Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

I’ll update it for v4.0.4 when it’s officially released, that way people aren’t complaining of issues that are related to using the 4.0.4 version with 4.0.3. It is pretty trivial to update it though, so I may just do it ahead of time and put it in a temporary location.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

is there any way this feature could be made a part of the next release and that too on the articles page . I have a site at http://www.newslink.in where I previously had only 1 user to post all the articles for the last year. Now I want to transfer ownership of those articles to their actual authors. So I have 1 full years content, that is 365 days x 4-5 articles/day and I’d have to modify them one by one. Like for example, all the editorials are need to be moved over to the editor’s name, etc etc. even that much means moving about 340 articles.

oops … I didn’t see this post…. anyway … I guess my site can be taken as an example. :)

I know this is something else completely, but what’d be really handy too, is to be able to transfer articles from the article list.

You know that “With selected:” drop down list that can now be used to delete / change status / change section… if there’d also be a ‘change author’ option… now that’d be really fantastic.

Great minds, eh? ;)

I certainly agree with you this functionality should be part of a future Textpattern release. As it is now, Textpattern is not ideal for community sites where there are a lot of people posting.

To name another example, I’d really like to see a plugin that would, for users with privileges under a certain level, limit the articles that they see in the articles view to just their own. Seeing everyone’s articles only confuses people.

Hm… that’ll be a bit tricky, but I’ll look into it.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Oh, and good news: there is now an option to “change author” in the articles list view, which is included in the core of Textpattern.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

The updated version did not work for me even when it was the only plugin ativated, so I reinstalled 2.2 and changed the var i value as mentioned earlier. That worked.

Thanks!

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Sorry, I forgot to mention: the menu should now appear under the “More” menu in the right sidebar. Is it not appearing there either?

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Actually, changing the variable didn’t work either. I updated to the new version again, then clicked on the ‘more’ tab (thank you! lol) and it goes through all the motions to change author, but it doesn’t change the author. I have publisher rights and it’s still not working. It doesn’t matter if it’s one of my articles or if another writer on the site was the owner.

If I can’t get this to work I’ll have to revert the site back to 4.0.3, which really is not that big of a deal. 4.0.4 is nice, but without being able to transfer owners, it’s too much of a pain to dig through the database for every writer change.

I just checked the article list. It DOES work when I select several articles and switch them there. Not on the write page though. That’s enough to keep me from going back to 4.0.3 at least.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Sorry to be a nag, but it was very convenient to have the authors listed alphabetically. It’s back to being listed by database key again it looks like.

ADDED: Also, I have over 100 authors to chose from.. The drop down on the article list page only shows 19.

Changing author on the article-list is a built-in feature of 4.0.4.
