[archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Notice: This thread is archived, this can be done with a vanilla install now.

**********************************************************

Currently, authors with limited permissions are forever unable to edit an article created another author unless their permissions are modified (afaik).

Workflow allows users to easily hand over an article’s authorship to another site author, without having to edit user permissions. Managing editors and publishers are able to transfer authorship of any article. Everyone else (with sufficient article permissions) may transfer articles that they currently own. Upon successful transfer of an article, the new author will receive an email alerting them take action. The email contains a link to the article’s edit page in Textpattern, making the process pretty darn easy.

Download latest version: ajw_admin_workflow (v0.3.1)

A modernised version of this plugin for txp v4.6 can be found here

“Dear god… its beautiful!” ;P

Very nice work.

(Edit: Andrew, the show/hide link is missing a ‘return false;’. Not a big deal, but will keep the page from jumping when you click it.)

Thanks mary; 0.1.1 updated. Hopefully this stands the test of time. I’m very open to suggestions toward improvement, as I’ve come to rely on the community as the best bug finders/fixers.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Great Plugin, use it currently on my site, but with upgrade to RC5, the edit article screen now shows an error

Notice: Undefined variable: confirm in /txp/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(429) : eval()’d code on line 70

toggling this plugin off makes the error disappear ….

However, the Plugin functions fine. I can still change the author of articles.

Does anyone know if it’s ok to just ignore this error? or anyone to debug?

Thanks !!!

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Yeah… it’s no big deal, just an undeclared variable. Speaking of undeclared, I actually updated the plugin to v0.1.2 (to fix that particular error) without letting anyone know about it. But that’s not all! Wait, no, actually that is all.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Yeah I never saw this one before… Much appreciated. I had been using a custom field for the author name but this will get me around that ugly work-around.

Thanks
