[plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_quikpik

The plugin incorporates functionality from all of the previous quikpik menu version but this time as a true plugin. No hacks anymore! It adds several conveniences to your admin interface.

  • Admin menu tabs formatted in an HTML select list. Just look in the upper right hand corner once you leave the admin -> plugins tab.
  • The word “QuikPik”? next to the drop down is hyperlinked to the extensions -> quikpik tab.
  • The quikpik tab contains shortcuts to your most recent articles as well as styles, pages and forms.
  • Clicking on hyperlinked articles, styles, pages and forms will take you directly into edit mode for whatever you clicked on.

The plugin requires Rev 198 or later which is when admin-side plugin support was added.

Here’s a screenshot of what it will look like once installed.

Working great, thanks. Is it privileges aware?

Yes, the drop down menu list is. Now that I think about it, I don’t think the listings on the quikpik tab are. I’ll have to add that.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_quikpik

How come the quikpik menus don’t exist anymore? Why do the listings have to be on a page?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_quikpik

I was trying to keep it simple since this was my first attempt at an admin plugin. But I’m still planning to play around with recreating the newer version of the quikpik menu as a plugin.

This is so beautiful it almost makes me cry. ;) How have I been able to live without it?

Thanks, this is a great idea.

However, since installing my tabs are not rendering properly in Safari.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_admin_quikpik

Looks like the javascript thats dynamically changing the colspan isn’t working. Do you have Firefox that you can test this out on?

I’m trying to get the newer version of the quikpik pluginized as well but I’m having problems in IE. Trusty old Firefox seems to work fine, but this javascript/DOM scripting is a bit finicky.

All good in Firefox OS X. Hopefully an updated Safari in Tiger will fix some JavaScript issues…

Sorted Rob! Roll on version 2. Maybe a bit of the old wilshireone colour scheme eh?
