PunBB integration?

Hey all =)

Has anyone seriously looked into a PunBB integration yet? At least so members can share username/password/login?

Just wondering if its in the works? has some work done already? or its time to get busy on it?

Thanx

Re: PunBB integration?

Don’t know, but some kind of common auth would be quite nice indeed.

Re: PunBB integration?

OK, thanx Jeremie.
The big thing was if anyone was already working on one? We don’t need 2 =) I’ll start looking into it then.

I’m going to need this done, for either PunBB or another really clean forum I like, MyTopix.

If anyone has any ideas on this? Post away!
It will be a day or so before I do anything.

Thanx again

Re: PunBB integration?

bbpress , the forum they use over at wordpress.org seem quite nice, and seems to produce nicer feeds then punBB.
it doesn’t seem to have textile, but afaik, there’s no textileplugin for punBB either until Dean choose to release his work as one.

Re: PunBB integration?

If there was an RSS feed for the forums, then you could simply include an RSS feed for that forum, and it would update when topics are updated, etc.

I don’t suppose it’d be too hard, but, it’s way out of my league, sadly.

The following is true
The above statement is false.

there are some sort of rss-feed for theese forums too , btw, but they only give you the post headlines, and aren’t really useful.

Mmmm! It’s Tag soup-er! :)

Oh, and yes I think some form of integration between punbb and txp would be sweet. Common auth wouldn’t be too much sweat surely, but wouldn’t the ideal thing be to incorporate the bb into txp so you can keep your navigation constant? – Or you could hard code the template files for punbb I guess…

Re: PunBB integration?

there actually is a textile plugin for punbb. it just needs to be updated for punbb 1.2.2 (there is a version for punbb 1.2.1).

i would love to see an integration between punbb and textpattern. really really really.

Re: PunBB integration?

PunBB Textile 1.0.1 :)

i haven’t got it successfully working cuz i have punbb 1.2.2 installed, and it only works for 1.2.1… but there are others who say it’s working well on theirs

fyi regarding RSS feeds for PunBB:
on March 5, 2005, Alex King says:
<blockquote>I’ve modified this RSS mod found here:
http://forums.punbb.org/viewtopic.php?id=5100
to support RSS feeds for Categories, Forums and Topics (Latest Posts is still included of course). I also added code to exclude posts that are not visible to guests (I think, someone may want to check this).</blockquote>

here it is: http://forums.punbb.org/viewtopic.php?id=6586
