I'm confused with comment email notifications
It’s late here, this might not be very coherent, I’ve had a long day.
What does Send login details from this email address do exactly? I can’t figure out what it does when there are no login details provided. Where does it get said login details from, exactly?

The help text is fairly clear, I thought.
Specify an email address which is used as the sender’s ‘From:’ address on messages with login information for new users.
So, that is the email addy used to send the info when an admin sets up a new user, or when a user goes to the “forgot password” screen. A bit misnamed nowadays, I think, in the sense that no real details are sent. In the past the password was sent, now it is just a link (since TXP 4.6 according to my-memory-with-holes).
Where is that emoji for a solar powered submarine when you need it ?

You see, this is why I shouldn’t be on the internet after midnight and before bedtime…
Thanks very much, Philippe. For some reason I’d associated that preference with sending emails for comment notification (per the one before it), and was bamboozled.
