Image Gallery Plugins

Would those of you who have written (or significantly modded) image gallery plugins care to leave a link to your gallery and the name of the plugin you’re using?

I’d love to be able to compare the different systems side by side.

Thanks.

(To start things off, I’m using a modified version of Justin Rhodes’ article-associated gallery plugin, found here. Examples are here and here)

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

Im using Greenrifts AlbumPattern.
http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=2865

There are various ways to use it and I havn’t exploited all its features but my version is <a href=“http://www.martagnan.co.uk/Gallery”>here</a>. I havn’t tried any of the others so I can’t offer comparisons. AlbumPattern allows you to display a list of galleries then thumbnails within a chosen gallery and finally the main image. There are options to add introductions, titles, captions etc…etc…

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

okay, here we go.
there is Photopattern v0.7 by Andy Curtis
no forumlinks of any use found. seems as if development stopped.

Anyone out there using Photopattern?

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

these are the ones i’ve been able to collect so far:

txp plugins:

jmr_gallery: article associated image
(<a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=3992”>forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=3992</a>)

textpattern gallery 1.21
(<a href=“http://flashrocket.worldoptimizer.com/article/5/textpattern-gallery”>flashrocket.worldoptimizer.com/article/5/textpattern-gallery</a>)

albumpattern
(<a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=2865”>forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=2865</a>)

photopattern
(<a href=“http://www.learnignorance.com/photopattern”>learnignorance.com/photopattern</a>)

dynamic gallery
(<a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=2200”>forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=2200</a>)

glx_gallery
(<a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=3618”>forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=3618</a>)

these can be integrated into txp (at least somewhat):

<a href=“http://www.photostack.org”>photostack</a>

<a href=“http://folderblog.tetto.org”>folderblog</a>

<a href=“http://www.flickr.com”>flickr</a>

<a href=“http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/”>simpleviewer</a>

what am i missing?

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

I guess:
<strong>rss_thumbpop</strong>
<a href=“http://www.wilshireone.com/article/29/txp-plugin—rssthumbpop” title=“This is a title”>www.wilshireone.com</a>
would fall in the same category. Its a beautiful plugin…

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

good call on rss_thumpop, it’s a great plugin.

i’ve been setting up photostack and i’m super impressed. the admin is so clean, reminds me of txp. there’s still a bunch of weird blips, like parentheses aren’t rendered in descriptions and i can’t get the clean urls to work yet (give me time…) but all in all it’s a sweet gallery option.

also, it’s simple enough that i was able to work with the php to get more of what i wanted where i wanted it, and i’m by no means good at php.

loads better than gallery (gallery.sourceforge.net) which was way too cumbersome for me.

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

has anyone used a gallery plugin that has automatic thumbnail generation incorporated into it? i have seen the script for ImageMagik and being a bit of a newb to TP, wondered if anyone had one setup i could look at before starting the long and complicated road (for me) to get one working with auto thumbs…

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

I’m using greenrift’s indispensable auto-thumbnail mod, which works independently of any of the gallery plugins. It resizes the image on upload (or replacement, which is also nice) and automatically creates a thumbnail.

Whichever gallery plugin you choose can take advantage of this.

Re: Image Gallery Plugins

I just put the image directly into an article and put the thumbnail into the excerpt. Then I use rss_suparchive (modified to output categories the way I want) and then a custom article form to list the photos in each category.
