Out of idle curiosity and with no agenda, hidden or otherwise:

how many times has Textpattern 4.5.4 been downloaded?
which is the most-downloaded version to date?

Whilst I won’t provide stats directly, I can tell you that Textpattern 4.0.3 was the most downloaded version historically.

Back then Textpattern was quite popular, and competition was not there. It’s crazy to think how much has happened in the last 8 years. Node.js didn’t exist, Ruby on Rails didn’t exists, PHP 5 was still on its honeymoon.

Jukka, should I infer from your reply that download figures are on a downward trend with the other CMSes available? Again, no agenda, just curious.

Wasn’t my intention to suggest that, but just mention the shift in market and opportunities it has created. The download numbers have been decently stable over the years.
