jea_latex_txp - embed math formulae in textpattern articles
This plugin lets you embed math formulae as graphics in textpattern articles. Whilst there are a number of other solutions to this problem, this plugin and the underlying web service have been designed with the following aspects in mind:
- Rendering quality over rendering speed
- Caching for better performance
- Rendering on local server to avoid external dependencies
- Retaining latex source code for later edits
Generated output looks like this:
This plugin requires latex2image installed on your webserver. It’s less difficult than it sounds. If help is required, feel free to ask here. See also: Plugin home page

Updated to version 0.1.1. Now supports a ‘content’ attribute that allows you to specify short pieces of latex code as an attribute value. For a solution that natively integrates into Textile, see this forum thread .
