Farewell Txp.

Hello all,

my family and I have been back in the UK for a couple of months now, and are flying back out to Borneo at the weekend to escape the British weather. I thought I’d better get around to posting on the forum again before we go. This time though, it is to say “farewell” to my fellow Txp’ers and to wish you all the best. It’s been enjoyable to interact with the motley crew that makes up the Txp forum cast (and to even meet some of you) but it’s time for me to move on.

I’ve increasingly found myself involved in other projects or simply having other interests that seem to take precedence; so whilst Txp has grown, my plugins and forum visits haven’t kept up. As this is going to be a continuing trend I won’t be putting any more time into advancing my plugin codebase from here — sorry.

So there you have it. Textpattern rocks, but I’m moving on. I doubt I’ll be posting here much again unless things change and I am once again positioned to contribute meaningfully to Txp either through the forum, plugins or patches.

As always, best regards & many thanks,

:’-(

*sniff*

All the best for your future projects. Was fantastic to finally put a face to the name the other week; I hope my abysmal timekeeping wasn’t one of the reasons that drove you away!

You’ll be missed round these parts, that’s for sure. Thanks for all your work you put into the plugins and the forum.

Take care Amigo.

AaaaaAAArRggHHH!!!!!
Oops, this was the second reaction.
Ok, calm down now.
Steve I understand your feelings and I wish you all the best and thank you again and again for your wonderful work and precious help but… I must admit… I’ll need some time to ‘assimilate’ your farewell :-((((
I hope you will have the opportunity and willingness to came back here sometimes.
Thanks once again for all!

Re: Farewell Txp.

“Calm down, Maniquí, this is just a dream, you will soon wake up and find out it was just a nightmare. Then you will go to the forum and find that net-carver has posted new versions of his plugins which work with 4.0.8…”

Ok, no, it’s not a dream!
But maybe, it’s a joke. Yes, that is, it’s a joke. Hahahaha, this kid from Borneo…

——————-

As Bloke and redbot said, you, your work and your help here will be missed.

Steve, many thanks again, you have been really helpful with me, here at forums and on IRC, and your work has made my job easier.
Wish you the best and wish you will come back someday…

Now, I’m being selfish and just thinking on plugins compatibility… I hope they don’t become abandonware.
Those poor little orphans kids from Borneo…

Hey, Bloke! Look! The MLP pack!
He’s looking at you, pointing to you with his little sticky hand!
What?
Bloke, did you hear that?
The MLP pack call you “daddy”!!!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Re: Farewell Txp.

Hi Steve, thanks ever so much for everything you have done for Txp and for it’s users, including me of course. Though I hate to see you go, I can’t imagine that it means that your great works will be lost. We’ll try and take good care of it.

I wish you all the best! And thanks again.

Re: Farewell Txp.

Steve,

Your input at txp, both as a plugin author and whenever it was accepted in the codebase was invaluable. Although txp was always seen as a minimal cms, your work in the plugins was enything but that. I just hope that MLP will somehow be adopted and incorporated in the core.

Best of luck in your future projects and I hope that you will be dropping in this forum every now and then.
