Textpattern apparently has a hard time getting out of the “blog tools” category.

While I think Dean’s focus was indeed the handling of text, Textpattern’s image handling has improved steadily, especially with 4.0.7’s ability to apply changes to multiple images in one go. Jon Hicks even prefers it to ee’s

I think that this is due the default template installed which is geared towards blogs.

People who write these articles just don’t have enough time to investigate in depth. If they know someone who is using it, much of their witting will be tainted from them. If not, the default install results in a blog site.
