host upgrading from php 4 to 5

hi,
Got an email today from two clients that have textpattern installs on a host thats upgrading from php 4 to 5.

Is there anything to be worried about, maybe the htaccess files???


its a bad hen that wont scratch itself.

I haven’t had any problems going from PHP 4 to 5. You might want to check the plugins in use though, especially if they are older and not maintained anymore.

Be sure that you have the latest classTextile.php installed if you use it (basically that one which comes with 4.0.6). Older Textile versions’ un/ordered list tags won’t work on 5.1.2+ (or was it 5.2).

you may find issues with some plugins that use classes. If your sites work on php5 don’t worry about it — it’d be an irrelevant detail in that case.
