[ARCHIVED] sed_auto_inst:
As from txp4.2 plugins can be activated in groups.
Here’s the plugin download link.
Here’s the source link.
About sed_auto_inst (auto-installer)…
This allows you to upload all of your favourite plugins and install+activate them in one-shot.
I principally wrote this plugin to automate installation of test sites for the MLP Pack but, upon reflection, have something that allows installation of any plugin you have available. I used this as part of a set of scripts that allowed me to create a site and add the MLP pack to it; automatically loading and activating the plugins in the pack along with zem_contact_reborn.
It served me very well on TXP 4.0.4 (I haven’t got around to trying it on 4.0.5 yet — ho humm) and now I offer it as a proof-of-concept to any takers.
Usage…
- Install this plugin in a totally blank txp installation.
- Create a /sed_autoinst/plugins subdirectory under your site’s files folder, making it writable (BTW, ignore the plugin help, it’s wrong at the moment.)
- Upload your prefered set of plugins to that directory.
- Open your site in a browser and go to “http://<siteurl>/textpattern/index.php?event=admin&step=sed_auto_inst” and they should all be installed and activated. You should end up on the admin > plugins tab.
You can remove the first step if you take the time to insert the plugin into the database definition file that gets used to setup your sites.
The next two steps are removed by pre-creating and populating the directories in your source tree before you upload it to your new site.
