Ampersand encoding?
Is it right that textile 2 no longer encodes &ersands?
Input text:
A *simple* example with my title & following text
Output from new textile c/o threshholdstate
<p>A <strong>simple</strong> example with my title & following text</p>
Output from prevous textile c/o textism
<p>A <strong>simple</strong> example with my title & following text</p>
Weird: here on the forum preview it works fine and I thought the textile had been upgraded here too.
(possibly this should be in bug reports)

Re: Ampersand encoding?
Yup, it’s a bug in the current version of Textile.
Ampersands are correctly encoded everywhere except in plain old paragraph text in “full” textile mode. Seems I tested all the exceptions but missed the obvious case.

Re: Ampersand encoding?
Thanks for confirming Alex. Can you post when you’ve updated it? Thank you.
EDIT: it looks like it’s fixed on the classTextile.php from threshholdstate. Can this be dropped into the txp install? A quick text-diff between the classTextile.php in textpattern (SVN) and the version from threshholdstate shows a number of differences.

Re: Ampersand encoding?
I’m sorry, you appear to be right. It’s correctly encoded for the XHTML output, not for the text output, though. I re-downloaded the classtextile.php from textile.thresholdstate.com for use on a vanilla forum site and it works fine there.

Re: Ampersand encoding?
I also have a problem with ampersands which are not encoded in 4.0.4 when in the body of the text (in the write tab). Visited threasholdstate and there is no link for textile (there is one for 404 which is what I am running anyway). At the moment I just wright &
but if there is a fix can somebody point me to the link?

Re: Ampersand encoding?
The Textile that runs there is from the latest revision of the 4.0.x branch (see the “rev 2182” in the bottom right corner?). You can try grabbing a copy of it from svn (scroll to the very bottom of the page for download).
