commercial plug-in request event calendar

Hello,

I posted this request for development of a custom solution/plugin for a event calendar also on team-textpattern. This is a short term development request for pay.

If you are interested and can start working immediately, please contact me for details.

Thank you

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

Christian,

There is a High Zoot Commercial Event Calendar plugin in play with Team Textpattern right now.
Your request makes bringing the development to the surface more necessary.

This calendar event plugin has the option for a grid calendar or an event list. There are new event tags used to call the calendar and list and specify date ranges and other attributes similar to article tags.

This would be an ideal plugin for any group that needs an event calendar, or a gig listing, etc.

The development has come a long way, and there are only a few pieces left to achieve basic implementation.
The plugin currently has its own UI block in the “write tab” under the article and excerpt fields.

The fields and corresponding tags include:
  • Name
  • Description (textiled) (used for short descriptions)
  • URL
  • Map Link
  • Start Date
  • Start Time
  • Finish Date
  • Finish Time
  • contact email (obfuscated).

The Events are attached to articles, but come with their own set of tags for listing.
In addition there is a full grid type calendar display.

The Calendar template has a strict standard for accessibility. The Admin side UI is
well hooked for styling alternatives.

The date allows for the implementation of hcal and ical links.

Event Categories are supplied under the “content” tab. (useful for making multiple types of calendars and styling specific events – of category “x” for instance)

There are a number of pieces yet to be resolved that will likely require additional funding

  1. Reoccurring events support
  2. Event Category support This is now functional and working

If you or anyone has any questions about the plugin, please contact me specifically. We are looking for funding to finish this project.

balance needed to release: $ 400 320 245 240

total donated $1280

and the ever important…

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

Hi Matthew,
I just received some detail info from Alex about this plugin. This really looks great already. We will need the event categories to refine a event search. We will provide the neccessary funding for this.
(Are you working with Alex on this plugin?)
Good work..

Christian

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

Sounds interesting. Does it allow for guests to enter their dates via a front-end form, or would it work with manfre’s mem_moderation plug-in(s)?

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

Christian,
yes. I am working directly with Alex on this plugin. Please contact me directly about funding. I’m glad you’re on board :)

Jakob,
I’m sure that kind of functionality could be added or built upon at some point. Its probably not ready to do that upon first release.

:)

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

Matthew

Any further word on this plug in.

I have a project where this would be ideal.

Is this going to be available for the general TXP public or will we need to purchase it seperately?
If the latter, any idea on cost?
Finally, when do you anticipate having the project completed?

Thanks.

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

Progre55,
Glad to see your interest.
The plugin is still in development, and I need to touch base with Team Textpattern about an initial release.
Event categories are virtually ready, and so the last major work that needs to be done is to enable recurring events (which is a lot of work).

Its best to write individually at this point.
In general you can expect a working finished version by the new year perhaps (a guess).

Thanks,

Matthew

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

All,
I need some feedback from some folks about recurring events. If you are interested in this functionality I would like you to email me directly as soon as possible so we can get this functionality done correctly.

Thank you,

Matthew

Re: commercial plug-in request event calendar

I’m working on a site for a musician and since the Events plugin for Textpattern has vanished from the Internet, I’m in need of an events plugin. The development specs and features sound right on.
