Bookmarklets
Hi all,
I’m working on a bookmarklet plugin.
At the moment, it is set up to create the bookmarklet from the following tag:
<txp:btx_bookmarklets adminURL="http://yoursite.com/textpattern/" />
You have to set adminURL to the URL of your admin area for TXP, and the bookmarklet will only work if you have TXP set to remember your login.
Get it:
http://redmelon.net/btx_bookmarklets.txt
At this stage, you’re probably wondering why I made it in the form of a plugin… two reasons: I’d like to find a way for the plugin to find out where the admin directory its all by itself, and I’d also like it to be able to handle a page which could let the user log in.
Does anyone know how to write in either of those features?
Thanks,
Douglas

Re: Bookmarklets
I don’t understand that error, try this instead:
http://www.redmelon.net/bookmarklets.txt
Repalce YOURWEBSITE with your admin panel URL.

Re: Bookmarklets
the admin panel you’re talkin is the one between the presentation and view site tabs right?
something like:
http://www.com/textpattern/index.php?event=prefs
I see the moon, and the moon sees me.
God bless the moon, and God bless me.

Re: Bookmarklets
yea, but without the “index.php?event=prefs” part. So just:
http://www.com/textpattern/

Re: Bookmarklets
Great plugin.
It is perfect for me because, being as lazy as I am, it means I don’t have to go all the way to bookmarks to edit my site while perusing my posts ;-)
Thanks.

Re: Bookmarklets
Is the plugin active?
If you still can’t get it to work, you can do it manually using the text file below:
Replace YOURWEBSITE with the address of your website admin panel (such as http://www.yoursite.com/textpattern/).

Re: Bookmarklets
I’m sorry but I am a new user. I’m coming out of MT. I am trying to understand how this installation works.
I went to the plugin section of TxtP, uploaded, installed and just got a TXT file on the screen. Isn’t this supposed to work like the MT and WP bookmarlet? And why can’t I install it easily? What am I missing —-please note I am still not familiar with the TxtP lingo, so you’ll have to break it down.
Thanks

Re: Bookmarklets
I modified the bookmaklet to add a new link to your website. Works like the original version.
Tested in IE6 and Firefox 0.8. Important: IE6 SP2 blocks this pop-up. Probably possible to configure.
It’s a textfile. Copy & paste as the URL (IE) or Location (Firefox) of the link. Remember to change example.com
with your URL.
If the window doesn’t focus add original window.focus();
at the end.
[edited: link location]
