[archived] rss_if_search_results
Notice: This thread is archived, there is a native txp tag now: <txp:if_search_results>
**********************************************************
I was in need of displaying a “no search results found” message while building Mestolando for Claudia and Brian a couple months ago and found that there was no way to do that in TXP 4.0.3. I tracked down this post by wet which showed how to build the message using embedded php. All I did was built it into plugin form.
Come to find out, you can also do this using chh_if_data but hey, I already wrote the plugin, so here it is…

Re: [archived] rss_if_search_results
…the plugin works very well giving us the ability to display a page of our choice. before rob made the plug a blank search page would come back, looked like the page was broken. now we can msg to the viewer and give them some other options… thanks rob.
cheers,
brian & claudia

Re: [archived] rss_if_search_results
I agree, but the design was all Claudia and Brian’s doing. They’re also talented designers in addition to being good cooks.
They provided me with HTML templates and a plan for how they wanted the site to work. I then designed and built the Textpattern architecture to run the site.

Re: [archived] rss_if_search_results
hi matthew,
thanks for the kind words.
personally i’m a fan of your site’s design (artiswork.org)… clean, bold, original and emotive. i’ve seen you change it over time and enjoy the changes… last i can remember is you modified the design of your footer area…
cheers,
brian

Re: [archived] rss_if_search_results
I can’t get this plugin to function properly. It seems like it always gets stuck in the “no results” case. Could you give a more detailed example of how and where to use this plugin. Thanks.

Re: [archived] rss_if_search_results
I get the following error when I attempt install:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function gzinflate() in [site]/textpattern/include/txp_plugin.php on line 207
I don’t have any problems inflating other plugins. Any thoughts?

Re: [archived] rss_if_search_results
It must be simple, but it doesn’t work at this site > www.duendestudios.nl
<div class="search">
<txp:rss_if_search_results>
<h4><txp:permlink><txp:title /></txp:permlink></h4>
<p><txp:search_result_excerpt /></p>
<txp:else>
<h4>Oops ... no results found! Try another keyword, please!</h4>
</txp:rss_if_search_results>
</div>
Thanks for any help!
