Author can delete all images and files
Hi all,
I’m considering to involve a few new auhtors at my site. They should be able to post live articles – so ‘author’ seems to be the perfect permission. Anyway, an author can delete all my images and files, although he can’t delete my articles.
Strange, huh? Is there any chance to get arround this (call it bug?) or does anybody know a plugin which can handle this kind of workflow management?

Okay, rights can be adjusted in textpattern/lib/admin_config.php. So I could restrict access to file and images.
Better than before, but it would be great if an author could upload files and if a “filter” would be applied over the list and an author could only see his own files and images.
Any hints?

I think that this has been ‘fixed’ in one of the svns but I might be wrong

colak, thanks for the pointer – I’ll check that on a local install.
skeptisch: I’ve been wanting something similar. There’s a thread lower down on restricting viewing rights for articles to authors (essentially the filter you mean) and I imagine it can be extended to images too, hopefully in future also to files as well. At the moment I think files don’t have an author field but I’m hoping it can be integrated for the next update.

FYI: It’s not a bug, rather an unimplemented feature. Nope, it hasn’t been fixed in svn.

Are you planning to integrate this new feature? Would be great if my authors could use the system without being able to delete files and images. They surely won’t do this on purpose, but they normaly don’t know the system and a few clicks are made very fast ;) You all know that.
