My “basic plugins”, the one I tend to install 2 sec after making a new TXP install are :
- ob1_title
- ako_nav
- zem_contact (reborn version is good, hard to get but good)
- upm_quicktags
- rss_admin_show_adv_opts
- ajw_notepad_public
I also find these plugins very helpful, but until they are made into core not to use without thinking it through:
- upm_img_popper
- upm_file_popper

I’m at the stage where I think I know textpattern well enough to make my site simpler and more efficient, and these plug-ins have helped me on that road.

I find that using plug-ins enables one to add functionality quickly which encourages you to go on and develop the rest of the site

My Top-five-list:
1. – rss_thumbpop (Couldn´t live without it)
2. – zem_contact (Very useful)
3. – bas_emff (Nice since I´m a radiojournalist and sometimes post clips)
4. – glx_admin_image_resize (Mainly for auto-thumbs)
5. – mrz_lastsitemod (Nice feature on a site)
Of course there are lots of other useful and good plugins but these are my top favourites.

It looks like Zem’s contact in one form or the other is the most popular plugin with 12 or more responses and Mary’s image_popper comes in 2nd with 6.
Next in line were Henrik’s ob1_googlenav, Ron’s rss_admin_db_manager and rss_thumbpop, Johan’s glx_if, Adrian’s ako_nav, Andrew’s notepad_public and Robert’s wet_slimpattern.

for me the conditional plugins are the ones which give me the functionalities I am looking for with the glx_if topping the list.
