new tags from 4.0.2 that substitute plugins

First of all i am not sure whether this is the right place to post this message. feel free to move it.

I have been playing around with txp 4.0.1 and have upgraded to 4.0.2 but i have noticed that i am still using old plugins which are not relevant anymore after 4.0.2. I tried to read the release information of 4.0.2 to understand what is new but since my knowledge of tags and plugins is very limited i am never sure whether i still need the old plugins.

So, is it possible to have a list of new tags that have substitute some of the plugins e.g.

<code><txp:if_different></code> – rss_suparchive

The developers weblog entries cover most instances. Enough tags were changed or improved that making a list of changes may be more complex than simply reviewing the <a href=“http://textpattern.net/wiki/index.php?title=Alphabetical_Tag_Listing”>tag list</a> itself, and comparing it against your plugins.

I’d suggest a more general thread for the Documenation forum: “Tags and plugins that are useful for particular tasks”.

that sounds great.

I guess it will help a lot of new people like me. Since, talking from my experience, most of the questions from new users are about how to performe different tasks rather than how to use different tags. Also you see many posts which simply reply by giving a link to a plugin.

It will be great to see the relation between tags and plugins. Cos, as i said before, i am never sure whether something can be done through a plugin, a tag, or both.
