Re: Textpattern 4.0.1 Released

It is amazing what has happend with TXP in the last 2 months!
Thanks Dean, Zem, Sencer & Kusor. That is super-dooper-fast and very much appreciated. Especially the security issue!

Ps just updated from 4.0.0 and did not encounter any problems at all. took me 2 min´s … remembering the old days .. i think i started with 1.17y or so, it took me 3 days to set up TXp :)))

Re: Textpattern 4.0.1 Released

Updated two sites, one client and one personal. Works perfectly. Much thanks for the updated diagnostics.

Re: Textpattern 4.0.1 Released

First off all, thanks for this update :).

<blockquote>
added very basic 404 support (correct 404 Headers are sent)
</blockquote>

Is it possibile, as Ray asked, to make your own 404 page?

Regards,

Joey

At this time: No – unless you or someone else writes a plugin for it. However we do intend to make this function available later.

Re: Textpattern 4.0.1 Released

Uh, what should I do if I downloaded the gzip, uploaded it, and logged in, yet Diagnostics still thinks it’s running in 4.0?

Is the security that bad in 4.0?

The new title=“y” is sweet! Try it on such tags as txp:category1, txp:category2, txp:section.

It does nothing on txp:category1 for example.

Re: Textpattern 4.0.1 Released

Right. Could you guys please considering adding a small note to your release announcements about whether upgrading is “recommended”, “strongly advised”, “critical”, etc.?

Re: Textpattern 4.0.1 Released

Jeremie – It works fine for me. In an article form <code><txp:category1 title=“y” /></code> outputs the article’s category title otherwise <code><txp:category1 /></code> outputs the article’s category name.

We decided not to disclose any information until people have had sufficient time to update their installations.

Well, it does say:

My bad, I was checking for a whole other thing. The “title” wording can be quite confusing, since it’s already here in article paradigm, and of course in (x)HTML pardigm. Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Textpattern 4.0.1 Released

Ray, I wrote about hacking together better support for 404s, but this was for g1.19. I’m not sure how much still applies in 4.0.1. See this article: Building a 404 page in Textpattern. When I have a chance i’ll check if this is still a reasonable hack. Also, is it possible to submit stuff like this if it is deemed useful back into the code base.
