[archived] czg_if_comment_cookies

Notice: This thread is archived, this functionality is available with current txp versions.

**********************************************************

Two tags.

<code><txp:if_cookie></txp:if_cookie></code> simply returns its contents if the user has a TXP cookie remembering their comment details.

<code><txp:if_no_cookie></txp:if_no_cookie></code> returns its contents if the users does not have a TXP cookie. Probably redundant what with this new txp:else business, but there it is anyway for you to use.

Download it here.
Or if that doesn’t work, download it here

Used it to great effect on a blog to produce the 1976-esque effect of shunting all the inputs aside except the message one when the user has a cookie to deal with it.

Tested with RC3.

Re: [archived] czg_if_comment_cookies

I keep getting the following error:

Warning: Missing argument 2 for if_cookie() in /home/l0vek3/public_html/eyeheartzombies-com/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(429) : eval()’d code on line 2

Any ideas? Yes, I have the closing tags for each instance of if_cookie.

Which version of TXP are you using? Have you set the “production status” in the preferences tab to “live”?

I just tried it and it looked fantastic, but …

How do you pass the required values through the form without displaying them? I ended up on a plain white page that said: Please enter your name

Most of what I know about forms I learned from reverse-engineering those of someone else.

If you mean what I think you mean Michael you need to leave the 3 info boxes in the form but hide them with display:none;

Re: [archived] czg_if_comment_cookies

A lot of plug-ins are throwing notices or warnings at the moment. They’ve been there for a while. It’s just that since RC4 the error reporting has been made visible. I doubt much will get done until 1.0 is available, then all the plug-in authors might get into a bit of updating. :)

Re: [archived] czg_if_comment_cookies

Is anybody able to mirror the plugin code? The website which is linked to is down due to the bandwidth being exceeded. I’m happy to put it somewhere for you if you like.
